As a quantitative ecologist, I confront mathematical models with data to help understand our natural world. Growing up along the coast of California and completing my PhD in ecology from the University of Calgary placed me in many collaborative settings to help people use analytics to understand risk and opportunities for people and nature. I am currently a Banting Fellow at Simon Fraser University blending research on aquatic ecosystems with mentorship opportunities, and I collaborate with Fusion as a statistical consultant. In this capacity, I advise and help Fusion develop cutting-edge Bayesian statistical tools that aim to better grasp the story in the data and communicate these findings to Fusion’s clients.
